| James S. Grisolia, M.D. has practiced clinical neurology in San Diego since 1983. He writes for and serves on the editorial board of the San Diego Physician, the magazine of the San Diego County medical society, teaches residents at two local hospitals, and is involved in advocacy efforts for neurologic patients and for violence prevention at state, national and international levels. His father, Santiago Grisolia, was nominated for the nobel prize in medicine and physiology and has been active in human genome policy with UNESCO. James S. Grisolia has participated in international symposia on the Human Genome Project and gene therapy, but responds to these exciting issues as a clinician and a writer, not as a molecular biologist.
